Second Edition of Study Guide for Irrigation Contractor Exams is Released

July 14, 2014— K. Thompson and Associates, in collaboration with C. Pine Associates, announce the second edition of the popular exam preparation tool The Irrigation Contractor Exam Study Guide. This second edition includes study and sample exam question on the resource materials the Irrigation Association, North Carolina Irrigation Contractor Licensing Board, and other state exams recently added as part of these exams.

The study guide is written to help candidates prepare to take the Irrigation Association’s Certified Irrigation Contractor exam, the state licensing exams which are based on that exam (e.g. New Jersey, North Carolina), or other irrigation contractor exams requiring a broad base of business, regulatory, and technical knowledge. This study guide is meant as a companion piece to the Irrigation Contractor Workbook by the Irrigation Association, but is especially effective when used with the IA licensed two-day Irrigation Contractor Training course. It gives the exam candidate over 350 self-study questions based in the IA’s workbook and over 250 sample exam-style questions that are similar to the multiple choice style of many exams, as well as the answers with chapter references and math problems demonstrated step by step. The guide is filled with hints and recommendations on how to study and how to prepare for a written exam.

The study guide is available online at, the Irrigation Association at, and other state irrigation association websites. It is also available by contacting the authors directly. For information about the guide, purchasing the guide, or for state associations wanting to sell the guide, please contact either of the authors:
